About

Hi, My name is Eddie but for as long as I can remember, the people close to me call me Macho. A nickname given to me by my grandfather. My grandfather is very special to me so that name has always been special to me. So...my name is Eddie but you can call me Macho.

My journey to knifemaking is an interesting one. I was pretty well addicted to World of Warcraft (WoW) and had spent a lot of time leveling up my character. In game, I was a Night Elf Warrior and Master Weaponsmith. The first big expansion of the game had just come out. I logged in and the first trash mob I killed dropped an item that was far better than all the equipment I had spent countless hours to get. I felt that I wasted so much time making this fictional character better and not myself. I thought, "Imagine if I had spent all that time making myself a better warrior/weaponsmith in real life."

I quit WoW and started on my warrior journey. I joined a few different schools at first but I really found a home at Tough as Nails MMA and SOSA Kickboxing. I trained Kickboxing, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'm currently a  purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and I went on to have a 3-0 amateur MMA record. You can watch my fights here. The relationships made & lessons learned thru hard grueling training sessions, cutting weight and fights have been invaluable to me.

The next leg of my journey was the Knifemaking/Weaponsmith side. I started making knives back in 2014 by watching Youtube videos. Guys like TuffThumbz, Gavco, and Sugar Creek Forge got me started. My big leap in knifemaking was when I found my mentor, Alan Folts. Under his guidance, not only did my knifemaking skills increase but my knife design skills increased as well. I landed a production deal with Kizer Cutlery. They licensed 3 of my designs: The PryAxe, The Butcher and the Shark Tooth. At Blade Show 2022 I became a probationary member of the Knifemakers Guild. I am now a full time knifemaker and I am constantly trying to increase my skillset.

That's how I went from playing a Warrior/Weaponsmith in a game to becoming a Warrior/Knifemaker in real life!
